Recommended course: Approximately 8–10 treatments, depending on your skin type, pigmentation and response to treatment. Treatment intervals will be recommended following your consultation and skin assessment.
At Laser & Beauty Clinic Fiji, we use advanced laser technology designed to target unwanted pigmentation while protecting the surrounding skin. Each treatment is tailored to your skin type and pigmentation concerns to achieve a clearer, brighter and more even-looking complexion.
Laser pigmentation treatments may help reduce the appearance of:
Sun spots and sun damage
Freckles
Age spots
Uneven skin tone
Superficial pigmentation
Selected areas of dark pigmentation
Laser energy is directed precisely towards the pigmented area. The pigment absorbs the light energy, causing it to break down into smaller particles while minimising damage to the surrounding skin.
Following treatment, the pigmentation may temporarily darken before gradually fading. Some treated spots may become dry and lightly flake away as the skin naturally renews itself.
Over a course of treatments, the appearance of pigmentation can become lighter, helping the skin look brighter, clearer and more even in tone.
Because pigmentation can have different causes, we recommend a professional skin assessment before treatment. Your therapist will assess your skin, discuss realistic results and create a personalised treatment plan for you.
Consultation and patch testing may be required before your first treatment-
Advanced Treatments – Safety & Contraindications
To help reduce the risk of irritation and support the best possible results, please follow these preparation guidelines before your appointment.
2 weeks before treatment:
Avoid excessive or direct sun exposure and apply SPF 50+ sunscreen daily.
Avoid laser, IPL, skin needling and professional chemical peels in the treatment area.
Avoid facial waxing, electrolysis and depilatory creams in the treatment area.
Avoid fake tan, solariums and tanning products or drugs such as Melanotan.
1 week before treatment:
Avoid prescription-strength topical Vitamin A/retinoids or Hydroquinone in the treatment area, unless your prescribing healthcare professional advises otherwise.
Let your therapist know about any medications, skincare products or recent treatments you are using before your appointment.
Your skin may feel warm or appear slightly red immediately after treatment. Pigmented areas can also temporarily appear darker before gradually fading.
For the best recovery:
Apply the recommended skin barrier or aftercare products as directed by your therapist.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7 days and continue wearing SPF 50+ every day.
Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy sweating, saunas, spas and steam rooms for approximately 24–48 hours.
Avoid excessive heat, including very hot showers and direct heat from hair dryers, for 24–48 hours.
Do not scratch, pick or peel any treated areas, even if the pigmentation begins to dry or flake.
Avoid exfoliating products or treatments for approximately 1–2 weeks, or until the skin has fully settled.
Avoid strong or active skincare products for at least 5 days, including retinoids, exfoliating acids and other potentially irritating ingredients.
Avoid facial waxing, electrolysis and depilatory creams until the treated skin has completely recovered.
Please note: It is common for treated pigmentation to temporarily darken or cause redness following laser treatment. The area may then become dry or lightly flake as the skin heals. Healing and treatment response vary between individuals, so always follow the personalised aftercare instructions provided by your therapist.
